The BioSusTex consortium held its third consortium meeting and second in-person gathering, in Izmir, Turkey, on September 9–10, 2025. The meeting was kindly hosted by Sun Tekstil, one of the key industrial partners in the project.
Representatives from all partner institutions attended (physically or online), making this a highly interactive and productive event. The agenda combined updates on the progress of all work packages with dedicated time for strategic discussions and partner collaboration.
One of the highlights of the meeting was a guided tour of Sun Tekstil’s facilities, offering participants a close look at the company’s main headquarters, its dyeing operations and knitting machines. Seeing these technologies and processes firsthand sparked valuable conversations and provided context to the project’s technical objectives.
The atmosphere throughout the two days was collegial, focused, and inspiring. Partners engaged deeply with each other’s work, exchanged insights and identified opportunities to integrate complementary expertise. This kind of in-person collaboration is key to BioSusTex’s transdisciplinary approach.
As we move into the final quarter of 2025, the consortium is now preparing for the submission of several key project deliverables by the end of October, with further results expected early next year.
We thank Sun Tekstil for their warm hospitality and all participants for their engagement and commitment.
Stay tuned for more updates as BioSusTex progresses.
